Position: Compression Operator

Location:  Burbank  CA

 

Technicolor Digital Cinema is a global leader in the development of end-to-end distribution technology and support services for the delivery of digital cinema to theaters worldwide. We provide a complete range of capabilities to serve the emerging digital distribution needs for the motion picture industry based on an open standard (DCI) that covers all of the stages for taking a movie from a studio master to a theater’s digital projection system. This includes compressing, encrypting, and transferring the master onto a deliverable media, delivering the content to the theater–for storage scheduling and playback, and installation and service of digital cinema playback systems.

 

 

EXPERIENCE



 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.3 - 5 years of post-production experience, specifically in DVD mastering.Must be able to maintain a flexible schedule to meet production requirements.Must have strong computer skills (Windows/Linux/Mac OS).Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.Resourceful and flexible - with sound business judgement and integrity.Collaborative team player with the ability to work with many reporting relationships.Ability to work effectively under pressure.High energy level, strong work ethic, effective in a start-up environment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 Responsible for preparing media (image and sound) in various encoding formats as specified by work orders. Includes correcting any errors or artifiacts identified during quality assessment.Responsible for performing quality assessments on local monitoring equipment.Responsible for synchronizing additional track files (subtitles, watermarks, 2nd language audio tracks, etc) as specified by work orders.Responsible for preparing digital cinema distribution packages, including media packages, key delivery messages, and watermark packages as specified by work orders.Communicates directly with clients as required.
