Registered Nurse II

Description:
Assists in quality nursing care to patients. Supervises care given and services rendered in admitting patients, recovery room care, and patient discharge. Educates patients and families by informing and assuring them of occurrences, answers questions and fulfills patient needs. Assists in education, maintenance care, and activities of specialty services. Helps in orientating, training and education of new personnel. Performs in related duties as required and directed. Provides continuity of individual patient care and maintains a safe environment for patients, family members and other staff members.

1. Responsible for all preoperative, postoperative, pain management and nursing care.
2. Provides patient and family assurance and education through verbal and written instruction as needed.
3. Provides safe transportation for patients.
4. Assists in securing all materials required for proper operation of above areas and informs supervisor/manager of needs.
5. Carries out duties and safety measures to prevent accidents, harm or injury to any patient, personnel or equipment.
6. Reports any unusual occurrence with patient or families to immediate supervisor/manager.
7. Assists in cleanliness and operational ability of above areas.
8. Keeps accurate narcotic count on a daily basis.
9. Assists in orientation of new employees as needed.
10.Participates with inservices.
11.Assists in other areas as needed..

Qualifications:
1. Expert clinical skills and provides complex nursing care to patients
2. Eight years or more of professional nursing experience. Critical Care or Preop/PACU experience preferred.
3. Requires Active Arizona RN license..
